Workplace / NEX
‘We needed a company to create a statement piece for the workplace we were building and designing for NEX; the client requested a replica of a 1970s Cray supercomputer that would fit into their new office environment. This led us to approach Soulful to undertake the design challenge – and they didn’t disappoint. They did a great job from start to finish and the results exceeded our expectations. It was a pleasure working with such a professional, creative and like-minded team, and feedback from the client (NEX) is that the Cray computer is a main talking point for office visitors.’

The Brief /
Soulful Creative collaborated with design and fit-out company Interaction to add some ‘wow’ factor to the new NEX offices at ‘Programme’ in Bristol. Our brief was to design, build and install a replica of a 1970s Cray Super computer. In addition, the piece needed to double up as additional seating space.
Our Solution /
We created a completely unique installation representing The Cray Super Computer incorporating flashing LED lights to give the look and feel of a working computer. The frame was constructed from MDF and the seating was upholstered in foam, with faux leather in NEX’s brand colours. LED lights were interspersed between panels in the NEX blue above the seating. Built in 3 sections off-site, we were able to assemble onsite within a few hours.
